Hi friends, hopefully all are doing well. With the turn of the new year, definitely the HYIP industry is showing some positive signs, with some promising programs being launched.
We have joined a new HYIP. I will be reviewing this program in my later posts, but for today i would like to concentrate on a myth, that has been circulating for quite some time now.
The concept of analyzing HYIPs by means of Alexa charts was popularized by my very good friend and former blogger David [a.k.a DVD]. Well, all bloggers[including me] got interested with the concept. The concept became a instant hit among the HYIP bloggers with almost all emulating it. D.V.D has left the industry many days back, and it’s somewhat hilarious to see some bloggers still following him blindly.
As always, before going into something i always attempt to know actually what i am dealing with. My friends will probably know i
am not quite a believer of Alexa rating and charts, therefore i never pasted a single Alexa chart while reviewing a program.[With all due regards to DVD]. Frankly, i believe Alexa graphs are useless, at least when analyzing a HYIP.
Sadly, many bloggers are still emulating DVD and displaying all sorts Alexa charts [Probably as a gimmick], perhaps even not knowing ‘What is Alexa’ , ‘How the ratings are calculated?’ , ‘How the ratings can be manipulated very easily?’.
Well for today, i would really like to dig into these matters.
What is Alexa Rank?
Alexa rank is a relative assessment of how popular a website is, selecting a cohort of the internet community that has the Alexa toolbar installed in their browser [Alexa toolbar for internet explorer users and the Sparky toolbar for Firefox users, there is till date no toolbar for other major browsers like Google Chrome or Safari]
Why i say ‘Relative’?
Well the answer to the question is how many of the total internet users have the alexa toolbar installed?. Yes almost all the webmasters have it installed, but do all internet users [in case of the HYIP industry , the HYIP investors] have it installed – The answer is a certain ‘NO’. And anyway the toolbar is available for only internet explorer and Firefox, not for any other browser.
How the Alexa can be manipulated easily?
The answer to this is fairly easy. There are several websites that offer such services. Just one has to spend $2 to $5 a day to get 10,000 unique visitors a day. If you continue this for 1 to 3 months the Alexa rating will certainly increase.
This is a very common practise, employed by the HYIP sites as well as some monitoring services to fakely increase the Alexa. Believe me, spending $5/day is nothing to a HYIP management.
But do you really think any of these bought visitors will actually deposit in a HYIP?
The obvious answer is a clear NO. These visitors will just view the site for 15 seconds and leave. I guess,my friends who are well acquainted with PTCs [Paid To Click] will agree with me on this regard.
Therefore i guess, those Alexa graphs may be somewhat beneficial to webmasters [Although i prefer Google Analytics]. But when it comes to analyzing cash flow into a HYIProgram – It does not make any sense at all.
Therefore, after doing some extensive research on HYIPs and blogging for almost three years now – i prefer the old fashioned way to invest in a HYIP.
1. Remember the Golden Rule – Never Spend More than you can afford to loss.
2. Diversification of the portfolio – Never place all the eggs in the same basket.
3. For analyzing a HYIP
*look at the preparation and the effort that has gone behind the creation of the hyip?
*The Amount of money spent behind the creation of the HYIP – that is the script, the site template, Ddos protection, Hosting, SSL Encryption etcetera.
*Assess the promotional measures and advertisements a particular HYIP is undertaking – it speak volumes about the financial reserve a HYIP management has.
*Be rest assured a HYIP administrator will at least try to make more than double profit of his/her expenditure. Therefore will stay in business as long as he/she achieves that. Therefore a HYIP investor has to join and leave the HYIP before the administrator has achieved this goal.* Follow the newsletters, recent developments – Note any change of plans, any awkward move from the HYIP Administrator – Dig into their mind.
You can read more on this issue in this article – How to detect a good HYIP? How to Spot a Scam ?
Lastly i would like to end this article with another article posted in one of the blogs i read daily [Well, i read more than 1000 blogs daily, My Feed reader helps me, and most of them are non-HYIP blogs]. The article is about how a 25 year old mom of two, makes 5000$/month from his low Alexa Rank Blog – Link

Well, I have to say I am a very experienced webmaster and I also work in this field so I know about the Alexa Rank and how one can boost it. But you can see if a sites Alexa Rank is manipulated or not. If they purchase hits the chart will always look different than the natural types of chart. I personally still work with the Alexa Rank as one of my main tools for HYIP analysis, and know what? I am doing very well. I make profits 3 years in a row now and almost always I invest in HYIPs with a bad Alexa Chart I loose money. So I have to say: Alexa Charts are worth nothing if you do not know how they can be manipulated, but they are a powerful tool if you use them wise and know how to use them. Of course one shoul always use several analysis methods and try to develop some points ranking system in order to decide if he should invest and how big.
Well, friend i have to disregard with u in this respect [ With all due regards ]
Reasons why i say so – Well, there have been several programs with comparatively lower alexa like GLOCOM and Instanty, which are doing well, and many investors are in profit.
regards
Not a bad article Hm!
You know how to put a stake thru my heart, just joking.
When I heard you were doing an article on alexa I knew it would not turn out well for my thesis on traffic statistics for hyips.
Oh dera back to the drawing board
